Degen Ape Academy 'The Recruits' is created by Emmy-winning duo StudioNX (with credits for Marvel, Disney & Amazon Studios), this project is launching in partnership with the DAA team to raise $10,000 to kickstart the animated IP and pitch it to the major networks.
The Story
Welcome to Degenerate Ape Academy - a secret rebel training ground for misfit apes, rogue agents, and one foul-mouthed drop bear named Roach. After a botched heist and a cosmic opal explosion, Roach finds herself saddled with a squad of clueless recruits and a mission that spans space, time, and total chaos.
As portals rip through Dingus Forest and an AI supervillain threatens to end free will for apekind, Roach must babysit the dumbest team in academy history while hunting down a traitor and saving the planet.
The Creators
StudioNX, the degen duo behind The Recruits, previously kickstarted the world’s first fully animated comic, Niko & the Sword of Light. It hit No.1 on the iOS App Store and went on to become a multi-award-winning series on Amazon Prime.
The Campaign
We’re taking the wild lore of this legendary ape collective and evolving it into an animated comedy - think Rick and Morty meets Adventure Time, with a degenerate twist.
Backers will get access to the first two issues of the Recruits comic, an animated teaser trailer and exclusive behind-the-scenes concept from an Emmy award winning team.
What we need
- $900 for writing and storyboards
- $6300 to create the animated teaser trailer
- $1500 to design & animate the exclusive cover
- $1200 for sound & voice acting
