Unruggable: Limited edition prototype run
ProjectOverviewRoundsDiscussion

01 Our Story

Unruggable began in early 2024 as a hackathon experiment, a simple bash script wallet that let us interact with Solana from the terminal. It wasn't the best UX, but with high downloads and positive user feedback, it proved one thing: there was a need for a simpler, safer way to self-custody on Solana.

From there, we rebuilt it into something much bigger: the first Solana-native hardware wallet, paired with a custom Rust-built mobile and desktop companion app. We designed our own custom hardware, and integrated Solana-native functions like Jito, Jupiter, Squads, and staking.

Along the way, we won at Superteam UK Demo Day and Colosseum Breakout, have 2000+ on our waitlist, secured over 20 validator partners, and joined the Solana Foundation validator program.

What started as a hackathon project has now grown into a Solana-native hardware wallet company, fully open-source and preparing for production at scale!

02 What We Need

For this first Fundl round, we're raising $4,000 to help us move from working prototypes to scaled production.

Funds will cover injection molds, manufacturing, packaging, and distribution of these first units, while keeping the price point accessible to the Solana community.

These prototype wallets will go directly into the hands of early adopters, cold wallet enthusiasts, Ledger/Keystone users looking for a Solana-native alternative, influencers, and power users across the Solana ecosystem. This stage is about testing, feedback, and proving adoption with the right audience before scaling production.

03 Risks

As with any hardware project, manufacturing and shipping can bring delays. To mitigate this, we've already completed CAD design, received injection molding quotes, secured packaging samples, and are 3D-printing dev units today.

We've also reduced risk by already manufacturing and testing our first working prototypes, with testing rounds underway with selected high quality users.

Manufacturing partners are lined up, and the assembly process has been scoped, so moving from prototypes to production is a defined path.

Security is another concern for any hardware wallet. To address this, all of Unruggable's code is fully open-source, and we're preparing external audits to ensure the firmware deployed on the device matches exactly what's in the repo.

On top of this, Unruggable integrates Squads, one of the most heavily audited programs in the Solana ecosystem. Devices are also assembled by our team in the UK, removing the risk of supply chain attacks from third-party hardware manufacturers.
