Salvador wakes up in the wreckage of a crash: his memories erased, his body broken, his creator gone. He doesn't know why he's different from other machines. Why he dreams of a life that isn't his.

Or why the world seems determined to destroy him.

And someone is hunting him: a relentless killer robot with its own hidden agenda. To survive, Salvador must piece together his past, outrun his enemies, and decide for himself what it truly means to be alive.

Along the way, he’ll face cruelty and violence… but also unexpected kindness.

Salvador is a sci-fi thriller that asks not only if humanity deserves saving, but if compassion can exist where none has been given.

The creator

Gonzalo Paoli, or Gonz on socials, is a devoted husband, father of two, and Voice Over Actor / EFL English Teacher / Writer-turned-Comic book creator who has been obsessed with writing better and better stories his entire life.

In 2018, he also realized that he could learn to draw (something he’s always “wished he could do”), “old” age be damned (He was 38)! He’s now also been obsessed with becoming a better artist ever since (and admits he's way too precious with his creations).

From 2020 to 2024 he ran a successful online drawing workshop for kids called “Dibuja Conmigo!” (“Draw With Me!”).

In 2024 he published a lovely little webcomic on Instagram called Paws & Panels, which is currently on hold as he writes and produces his biggest project to date, the science fiction thriller manga Salvador.

He’s also co-written a wonderful Science Fiction Action/Adventure story for kids called To The Stars! (illustrations and translation pending for publication), and has many more stories running around in his head, including The Graphite Slinger, a Fantasy Action manga about a teenager who acquires superpowers through the graphite in his pencil.

The Campaign

Salvador is a sci-fi thriller manga project about the world’s first sentient robot boy, hunted by a mysterious killer machine as he struggles to uncover his erased past.

This Collector’s Blueprint Edition is an 88-page hybrid booklet* which combines prose, script, manga thumbnails, finished pages, and exclusive art. It's a true making-of insider's look into the creation of Salvador.

Backing this campaign funds the next stage of the manga: five fully illustrated pages and a cover, while building the audience and momentum toward the launch of Salvador Issue #1.

*The Physical Special Edition (print) will be 88 pages. The digital versions are shorter, depending on the edition.

Risks

Of course, as with everything in life, there are risks, even if this round of the project is funded.

1. If you're hoping for the eventual production of the full manga, well... it may not make it to the second round (this time)

2. Mitigating this by planning out alternate campaign rounds before we even start. In this round or the next, Salvador is happening.

3. Something could happen to me before I've finished producing it :man_shrugging:

4. Mitigating this by trying my best not to die before I'm done

5. Nothing. There is no other risk. Beyond running out of money or actually dying, nothing's going to stop me from seeing this through 🔥😈🔥

This is mostly a digital-only campaign, but please remember that if you go for either of the physical items (sketch, original thumbnail), there may be a delay while we get your artwork out the door. I want it to arrive in pristine condition, so before shipping I'll want to be sure I get this right 🙌
